Lionel Messi has been presented with the European Golden Boot on Wednesday. The 32-year-old finished the 2018/19 season as a leading goalscorer on the continent, beating Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe to the prize.
The Argentine earned his 6th award by scoring 36 times in 34 La Liga matches last term. Leo’s goals helped Barca to regain the title at Camp Nou. Moreover, it was Messi’s 10th Primera Division trophy in his glorious career at the Catalans.
Leo first lifted the Golden Boot 9 years ago after netting 34 goals during the 2009/10 season.
Mbappe, who finished the race for the prize in 2nd behind Messi, found the back of the net 33 times last term.
