Relocating to Canada From Nigeria

Many of my subscribers have been asking me questions along the line of…

“Is it still a good idea Relocating to Canada From Africa?”

”Is Canada still the right country to relocate to?”

Here are my thoughts on Relocating to Canada From Nigeria:

ONE: One of the things that the pandemic has proved to everyone is that Canada is one of the best countries to live in.

I am saying that because of their well-developed healthcare system and the way the Canadian government created several programs to ensure that people living in Canada are well taken care of.

TWO: While it is true that the pandemic has changed a lot of things, the reality right now, is that things going fairly well in Canada mostly because of how the government has come up with several programs to ensure people living in Canada are taken care off.

There are several benefits already rolled out by the government both for individuals and businesses so as to ensure that people can survive while the situation lasts and businesses can bounce back fast as soon as the economy opens up.

Also, the Child Care Benefit (CCB) for families with children is still ongoing.

In fact, this last May 2020, the government is boosted the CCB with a one-time increase of up to $300 per child.

With this support coming from the Canadian government, people living in Canada are definitely living a better life.

THREE: As far as immigration is concerned, the Canadian Federal government has not given up on its desire for new immigrants to come to Canada.

Based on these 3 points, I believe Canada still remains the best country to relocate to for Nigerians and I think it is a good idea.

I also think now is the right time to start putting together your plans to relocate. Don’t wait until the Covid crisis is over.

There are several programs for relocating to Canada successfully.

(i) If you are between the ages of 25-35yrs, I will advise you to keep your focus on the Express entry program except if you have what it takes to come in through the Provincial programs also knows as PNPs.

(ii) If you are between 35-45yrs, I doubt if the Express Entry program can work for you as it is right now.

My advice is that you should focus on the Provincial programs (PNPs) if you have what it takes.

Watch this masterclass video to understand how to become a permanent resident of Canada via the Express Entry or PNP programs.

(iii) The 2 programs listed above depend heavily on your age, your ability to pass the IELTS exam, and a high CRS point.

However, there is another Canadian immigration program (introduced last year) that allows you to become a permanent Canadian resident even if you do not have a degree.

With this new program, you can get a job anywhere in Canada and you are allowed to move with your entire family.

  • Does not require a high IELTS score (5.0 is okay)
  • You get a job almost immediately
  • Only 12 months previous work experience required
  • Age does not matter
  • No proof of funds required
  • Only 2 years post-secondary education required e.g. OND
  • Not based on points (like Express Entry)

Many Nigerians are already using this method to relocate to Canada but like other immigration channels, it will soon become highly competitive.

And that is why the time to learn more about it and start processing it is now.

Mr. Daniel Ola (a Nigerian immigration expert based in Toronto, Canada) created a short video to explain how this new immigration program works and how one can apply.

The Plateau Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a driver and two others with a truck containing 45,000 litres of adulterated Automated Gasoline Oil (AGO).

The Commandant of the corps in the state, Mr , disclosed this while presenting the suspects to newsmen on Wednesday in Jos.

Barunde said the suspects were arrested on June 17 in Jos while moving the fake products to Gombe.

“On June 17, my men who were on a routine patrol at about 1 p.m. intercepted a truck with registration No. Abuja RSH 800 XC, containing 45,000 litres of adulterated AGO suspected to be a bunkering product without a genuine waybill.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the product was loaded at Ogara depot in Delta State and is expected to be offloaded at a Chinese Construction Company (CCECC) in Gombe.

“The three suspects arrested alongside the fake goods claimed to be personnel of Velreich Global Company Ltd with its Head office at Block SA3, Suite 3, NNPC Estate, Area 11 Garki, Abuja.

“But the name of this company is not to be found on the database of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC),” he said.

He said that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as the investigation was concluded.

One of the suspects and driver of the truck, Dahiru Idris, 25, admitted to the crime and pleaded that justice be tempered with mercy.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the other two suspects were identified as Abubakar Sa’eed, 30, and Abdulaziz Yusuf, 19.
