Afriupdate reports that the NAF recruitment 2020 online application registration form opened for the recruitment of Airmen and Airwomen into the force on Friday, July 24.

According to Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information NAF recruitment process is completely ‘free of charge’ and executed in an equitable and transparent manner.

“Accordingly, the general public, and especially applicants, are strongly advised “NOT” to join any WhatsApp, Facebook or indeed any other social media groups and have no dealings with anyone demanding money as a guarantee for recruitment into the Service.”

Requirements

  • Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth.
  • Applicants must be medically and physically fit.
  • Applicants must not be less than 1.66m tall for males and not less than 1.63m tall for females.
  • Applicants must be free of any previous conviction(s) on the criminal ground, by a court of law.

Non Tradesmen/Women

  • Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 22 years by 30 June 2021.
  • Applicants must possess a minimum of 5 credits, including Mathematics and English, in not more than 2 sittings in SSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB.

Tradesmen/Women

  • Applicants applying as tradesmen and women must be between 18 and 25 years of age except for those applying as assistant chaplains/ imams and drivers who must be between 18 and 28 years.
  • Applicants must possess at least a lower credit in ND/NCE or any relevant trade certificates from reputable and approved government institutions/organizations, with a minimum of 2 passes and a credit in English in not more than 2 sittings in SSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB.
  • Applicants applying as drivers must possess a minimum of 2 passes in SSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB, with a credit in English and trade test certificate.

Functions of FMCs

Job Description

Provide support to FMC management in the following areas:

Maintain bookkeeping and financial management systems to ensure proper recording and smooth operations in the FMC

Ensure up-to-date books of accounts for the FMC operations

Ensure filings of statutory financial returns/reports (deduction, remittance, and filing of local taxes including personal income tax (PAYE) and withholding tax (WHT)

Review supporting documents to ensure accuracy, relevance, and validity of documents before recording entries

Maintain FMC bank accounts and prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements, and reconcile the FMC petty cash monthly

Prepare monthly/annual management account. Initiate and coordinate annual internal and external audit of FMC accounts/books

Coordinate and ensure that resources (financial, equipment, and other material) are organized and in place to achieve planned targets for production and marketing

Finalize operation budgets for work plan and coordinate monthly production of cash forecasts to enable effective budget management

Maintain and coordinate the implementation of accounting and internal control procedures

Job Description

The general manager will work under supervision of and report to the FMC Board of Trustees.

He or she will work closely with leadership of farmer cooperatives to promote the activities of the FMC and to ensure buy-in from members of the cooperatives.

He or She will take leadership in planning production activities for the target value chains in order to ensure adequate availability of inputs and mechanization services to achieve production targets.

He or She will lead development of a more efficient marketing system for targeted value chains by identifying and building alliances with potential off-takers or aggregators and building capacities of farmers through their cooperatives to engage in joint marketing through the FMC facilities.

He or She will lead planning and coordinating production, value preservation, and marketing of scheme commodities.

He or She will also be expected tp ensure close monitoring of scheme operations to maintain Sound financial and management practices by the FMC.

Areas of responsibility would include, but not limited to – To deliver the vision of a modern and commercially viable FMC, the general manager will provide:

Leadership: Implement the strategy of the shareholders for a commercially viable and profitable FMC

Budget and resource management: Manage the budget for FMC operation and management

Sustainability and business planning: Lead work with value chain specialists in developing sustainable and appropriate business models for each promoted value chain

Relationship management: Promote the FMC among the appropriate stakeholders in the region

Monitoring and reporting: Supervise and provide technical advice for the management of agricultural production on the scheme to ensure FMC/cooperatives achieve set targets of production.

Qualifications

A Master’s degree in relevant discipline; five to seven years’ experience working with a large agribusiness company, preferable trading in commodities.

Essential Experience and Skills:

  • Experience of growing start-ups and/or of leading large organizations, working to international standards
  • Exposure to agricultural initiatives using modern agricultural technologies

  • Sound entrepreneurial skills and business know-how
  • Experience in managing out-grower schemes

The Nigeria Police Force has commenced the recruitment of new constables. 

Nigerian Police Application Portal – The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) says it is looking to recruit qualified persons as constables in the force.

Afriupdate reports that Frank Mba, force public relations officer, announced the recruitment in a statement on Saturday.

According to Mba, applicants “must be aged between 17 to 25 years” and must possess “a minimum of five credits, including English and Mathematics, in WASSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB”.

“Applicants must be medical, physical, and psychologically fit and must not be less than 1.67m tall for male and 1.64m tall for female.

“Female applicants must not be pregnant at the time of the recruitment.”

The force also advised those with certain disabilities not to apply.

Some of those deformities mentioned include “impediment in speech gross malformation of teeth or jaw preventing proper mastication of food, knocked knees, bowlegs, bent knees (knees which cannot be straightened when standing at attention)”.

The objectives of the Scheme include:

  • To develop agricultural value chain and ensure sustainable agricultural practices.
  • To boost the managerial capacity of Agri-Business/SMEs as pipelines of growing enterprises that can become huge corporate organizations.

MSMEs in the following sectors are eligible:

  • Agricultural businesses,
  • Education,
  • Health,
  • Services (Hospitality, Restaurants, Catering, Services, etc),

How Does It Work

Step 1: Get Trained
Attend a compulsory training with a CBN certified Entrepreneurship Development Center (EDC).

Step 2: Apply For Loan
The Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) guides and assists you in getting all necessary documents required to secure the CBN AGSMEIS Loan.

Step 3: Receive Funds

Interested Nigerian engaged in Agriculture or other SME businesses can access up to N10 Million from the CBN AGSMEIS Loan, at a single-digit interest rate of 9% per annum. Below are the requirement and steps to access

Eligibility

Businesses in the following industry are eligible for the AGSMEIS Loan:
• Agricultural sector.
• Real sector including Manufacturing, mining, and petrochemicals.
• Service sector including Information and Communication (ICT) and the Creative Industry.
• Other businesses as determined by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Requirements

• Completed application form.
• Bank Verification Number (BVN).
• Certificate of Training from recognized Entrepreneurship Development Institution (EDI) or evidence of membership of organized private sector
• Letter of Introduction from any of the following, Clergy, Village Head, District Head, Traditional Ruler, senior civil servant, etc. (for individuals/ micro enterprises only).

• Evidence of registration of business name or certificate of incorporation and filing of annual returns (where applicable) in compliance with the provisions of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (1990).
• Tax Identification Number (TIN) and current Tax Clearance Certificate TCC) where applicable.
• To qualify to access this fund, you need to have been trained by an Enterprise Development Institute after which you will fill the form. They will submit your form to CBN.
• CBN will ask banks to verify your account details and then CBN proceeds to conduct its own assessment.

How Do I go about CBN AGSMEIS Loan?

The interest rate is nine percent (9%) per annum.

This loan scheme does not require a collateral.

This loan scheme is designed to be easily accessible. The entire process is automated. From application submission to disbursement takes six(6) to eight(8) weeks.
