Nigerian Stock Exchange Today: Price List Shows Seplat Lead Gainers, Wapco Top Losers

Nigerian Stock Exchange Price List: The latest Nigerian stock market today brought news of the exchange closing at 4,681 deals on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, higher than the 4,602 deals it closed with on Monday, September 28, 2020, while the volume reached 413.1 million units at the close of the market on Tuesday, higher than the 336.8 million units it closed with on Monday.

The value of trades recorded on Tuesday was NGN4,527 billion, higher than the NGN4,029 billion of Monday. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the All-Share Index reached 26,611.96 index points, lower than the 26,507.84 index points it ended trading with on Monday. The stock market also ended with NGN13,907 trillion equity capitalisation on Tuesday, higher than the NGN13,853 trillion of Monday.

TOP GAINERS 

Seplat led the top gainers’ chart after its stock price gained NGN2 to close trading at NGN400 per share after opening today’s trading with NGN398 per share, this is according to Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) market data seen by AFRIUPDATE. BUA Cement was second on the table, as its stock price gained NGN1.35 kobo to close the market with NGN41.75 kobo per share, having started trading today with NGN40.4 kobo per share.

MTN Nigeria was the third top gainer as its stock price closed the market with NGN1 gain to move from the opening price of NGN126.5 kobo per share to NGN127.5 kobo per share. Dangote Sugar came next, closing the market with a gain of NGN0.2 kobo to end trading with NGN12.5 kobo per share from the opening share price of NGN12.3 kobo per share. Zenith Bank was last on the top five gainers’ table after its share price rose from NGN17.3 kobo per share to close trading at NGN17.5 kobo per share, after gaining NGN0.2 kobo.

TOP FIVE LOSERS 

On the top of the losers’ list is Wapco, which had begun trading earlier today at NGN16 per share, only to drop in price by NGN-1 to close at NGN15 per share at the end of trading today. E-Tranzact was second on the chart after closing at NGN2.35 kobo per share from its opening trade price of NGN2.61 kobo per share; this represents a drop of NGN-0.26 kobo. First Bank also recorded a drop in its share price as it declined by NGN-0.15 kobo to close trading at NGN5.2 kobo per share, below the NGN5.35 kobo per share it opened with.

Ardova also recorded a drop in its share price as it declined by NGN-0.1 kobo to close trading at NGN11 per share, below the NGN11.1 kobo per share it opened with. Learn Africa completed the top five losers chart after it closed trading with NGN1.07 per share, declining by -6.14% from the NGN1.14 kobo per share it opened trading with.

Top Five Trades

Afriupdate learnt that the top trades in the stock market for today were Zenith Bank, which traded a volume of over 90.8 million units worth NGN1.584 billion. Sterling Bank was the second most traded stock today with over 72.3 million units worth over NGN98.8 million. UBA was next on the list, trading 56.6 million units worth NGN344.3 million.

First Bank was the fourth on the most traded stock list, closing the market with over 34.6 million units traded at a cost of over NGN183 million, while FCMB completed the top five list with over 24.4 million units traded today, worth NGN51.3 million.
