The Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force (JTF) North East, OPHK, Maj-Gen. Christopher Musa, assured the general public of the Army’s commitment to rescuing all captives of terror groups.

National President of Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), Salamatu Yahaya, donated relief materials and money to the rescued girls at the Maimalari military cantonment. She expressed delight over the successes recorded by the troops in Sambisa Forest and the Lake Chad region.

MEANWHILE, residents of Bali and Gassol local councils of Taraba State are having sleepless nights due to incessant bloodletting in the area by armed bandits and kidnappers.

The residents wrote an open letter, which was seen by The Guardian, to the Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu, and other critical stakeholders from the councils to express their worry.

The senator representing Taraba Central, Yusuf A. Yusuf; Gambo Mubarak representing Bali/Gassol Federal Constituency, among others, were copied in the letter signed by Abdurrazzaq Moallahyidi and captioned ‘Do the Needful Before we be all Finished by Bandits.’
In the letter, they called on the illustrious sons of the council to help fashion out plans that would prevent bandits from launching further attacks on the communities in the councils.

“If the needful is not done by our concerned stakeholders, the situation will get out of hand,” they wrote, beckoning the stakeholders to put aside their political differences and come out with measures that would frustrate the bandits.

“It is important to note that residents of the affected areas have run away to nearby villages as migrants.”
Communities in the councils reportedly under severe attack by bandits include Karal, Ndiyanwo, Wuro-Jam, Wuro Bokki, Anema, Dadin Kowa and Yola-Kareje.

Others are Garin-Karfe, Baba Aso, Wuro Jingi, Jauro Manu, Zip, Namnai, Kara-Kuka, Garin Gidado, Chul, Baba Juli, Garwa, Malam Baba and Bokki.
