To avoid rancor, as witnessed recently during the #EndSARS protests, retired Archbishop of Lagos Methodist Church Nigeria, Most Rev Luke Odubanjo has said Nigeria needs committed leaders to move the country forward.

Speaking at the 2020 yearly thanksgiving service of the Wesley Cathedral Olowogbowo in Lagos, Odubanjo called on Nigerians to have the fear of God in all that they do, the lack of which is responsible for non-transparency and inaccountability in the system.

He urged Nigerians, irrespective of creed, to serve God faithfully in their respective capacities, and that no matter the situation in the country, God is able to change Nigeria’s fortune and move it to an enviable height.

Reiterating the theme of this year’s harvest thanksgiving service: Harvest of Divine Assignment, the retired Bishop charged the congregation to earnestly pray for Nigeria, as God has given them the power of prayer to really change the country for good.
