“As I think everyone finds it, it was quite something to see him in person. But as the days pass, he’s a normal guy, a friend in the dressing room,” Pedri said of his first months alongside Lionel Messi in an interview with EFE, as cited by Sport.
“It’s great to play games and train with, while learning from, the best player in the world.”
After joining Barcelona from Las Palmas in the summer, the 17-year-old has made 10 appearances alongside the Argentine. Both of them are yet to miss a single game for Barca this term.
“For now it’s very good! He always gives you advice on the pitch, that is what a captain has to do I think, and that’s him, he knows what he’s talking about for what he’s won and done in football,” Pedri added on his relationship with the 33-year-old.
“That Messi gives you advice is pride and I always try to listen to him and learn from him, which suits me very well.”
The attacking midfielder is on two goals for the Catalans this season so far.
