Back in 2012, Chelsea had players like Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba in their squad… But it was Lionel Messi who won over John Terry’s kids as they were carrying his name on their t-shirts.
“They’ve got shirts with his name on the back. They just love him. I got one of his shirts from one of the previous games. They like that already,” Terry said that year, according to the Daily Star.

“For me, it’s a pleasure to pit myself against him. When I finish and look back, and he will still be going strong, I will be able to say to myself I tested myself against the best.
“For me, he is the best ever. He’s a great individual player, but a great person too. A credit to the sport. He’s got everything. He is magical. I wouldn’t say he could be stopped, but collectively they can be,” the legendary Englishman concluded.
That’s all good but Terry’s kids are still far beyond Steven Gerrard’s son who was named Lio and who was spotted wearing Leo Messi’s kit one day.
