Biafra political activist and leader of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has condemned #EndSARS protesters blocking roads in his native Nigeria, telling them to stop.

Self-exiled Kanu, who leads the banned group canvassing for the secession and sovereignty of Eastern Nigeria, during his routine online broadcast on Monday, made his position known concerning #EndSARS protesters blocking the country’s roads.

A caller had called in to disclose that Ojodu area of Lagos State was blocked.

“Organisers should allow free movement of people,” Kanu said.

“You cannot block the roads.

“The time hasn’t come.

“If you do it now, you fail.

“They must allow access for people to pass.”

End SARS protests non-stop

Following weeks of outcry online over years of recurring police brutality, Nigerians took to the streets to demand police reform and an end to the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS).

Roads in major cities across the country have been blocked and cities brought close to a standstill as protesters demonstrate across more than 100 cities across the country.

Solidarity protests have also happened in some other countries of the world.

The government has responded and said it has disbanded the SARS and replaced with Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT).

However, Nigerian youths are not backing down, with calls for wider reforms.

During the protests, police have been attacked, protesters have been attacked, police stations burnt down and some armless citizens killed.
