SYNLAB Nigeria, as part of the Private Laboratory Testing Consortium of the Lagos State Government, regrets to announce its suspension from COVID-19 testing. This action was necessitated following the discovery of contamination during a quality assurance review by Lagos State Biobank.
The Lagos State Biobank, in its capacity as the regulator of private testing for COVID-19 in Lagos, has an oversight function across all participating laboratories.
The temporary suspension of testing at SYNLAB Nigeria’s drive-thru centres resulted in a review of its SARS-Cov-2 laboratory processes and the implementation of corrective measures. These corrective measures are done under the supervision and guidance of the Lagos State Biobank.
SYNLAB Nigeria is currently coordinating efforts with the Lagos State Biobank, as a direct impact of the steps taken, to ensure that its clients do not experience undue delays in receiving test results by redirecting them to the IDH facility in Yaba, Lagos State.
“We understand the importance and resolve of the initiatives put together by Lagos State and are working closely and assiduously with the relevant authorities to ensure the expedient reopening of our testing centres.”
SYNLAB Nigeria is part of the Private Laboratory Testing Consortium of the Lagos State at the forefront in the fight against Covid-19. We are working with all relevant stakeholders to provide the necessary support. We reaffirm our commitment to the wellbeing of our clients across the nation. We will ensure that we continually maintain our integrity, deliver quality services, and support the initiatives put in place by the government to end the pandemic.
We want to assure our clients that all regular SYNLAB Nigeria facilities remain fully operational and that they continue to offer reliable diagnostic services. These facilities remain separate from the dedicated Covid-19 drive-thru centres, in line with our safety procedures.
