Biafra political activist and leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has told Governor Dave Umahi that “as long as we are alive, Ebonyi State or any other part of the blessed land of Biafra will never ever be taken over by his terrorist friends in return for his delusional 2023 presidential ambition”, Afriupdate reports.

Kanu stated this on his official Facebook page on Wednesday.

The self-exiled leader of the outlawed IPOB as well vowed that his generation will “resist” any terrorist invasion in Igboland.

“Somebody should please help me tell Dave Umahi that as long as we are alive, Ebonyi State or any other part of the blessed land of Biafra will never ever be taken over by his Fulani terrorist friends in return for his delusional 2023 #ZOO presidential ambition,” Kanu wrote.

In 1967 Igbo leaders declared a Biafran state, but after a brutal civil war, which led to the deaths of up to a million people, the secessionist rebellion was defeated.

Controversial Kanu is the latest in a line of ethnic Igbo activists taking up the cause of pushing for an independent state, saying the Igbos have been marginalised by successive Nigerian governments and leaders.
