Kwara State Government has earmarked N135.5 million under the Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) as interest-free loan to 1,119 private school owners across the state.

This is to cushion the effect of the school closure during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19)-induced lockdown, according to the anchor of KWASSIP, Mohammed Brimah.

“KWASSIP engaged the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) in Kwara State after they reached out for assistance to cushion the effect of school closure arising from COVID-19,” Brimah told reporters in Ilorin.
