Barcelona legend provides a solution to the club’s transfer dilemma.
Barcelona have been told to prioritize Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar signing over Inter Milan forward, Lautaro Martinez.
According to Barca legend, Rivaldo, signing Neymar is the best move for the club. While the Spanish giants have been focusing on bringing both the players on, financially it became very difficult to manage both transfers due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Catalans then shifted their focus on to Lautaro, as he could be the permanent solution to an aging Luis Suarez. However, now that Lautaro’s release clause of 111 million euros has expired, the club legend believes that inter Milan would charge a lot for his sale as a ploy to keep him longer, which Barca surely can’t afford due to their financial status.
“Lautaro Martinez’s release clause has recently expired, so Internazionale can now ask for more money to sell him and, apparently, they want to extend his contract and keep him at the club.” Rivaldo said.

Barca’s recent displeasing performances since the restart have caused them to drop crucial points in the La Liga title race to give their arch-rivals, Real Madrid, the lead. The hierarchy have been looking to bring in reinforcements this summer, with Lautaro being considered a priority signing.
Meanwhile, Neymar has been none too subtle about his desire to reunite with his former teammates especially, Lionel Messi, and recreate the legendary MSN trio. The Brazilian star believes that Neymar would be a better signing to focus on especially with PSG chief Leonardo ready to consider offers.
“According to recent news, Leonardo might now be interested in negotiating the Brazilian star’s move from PSG. For that reason, I think Barca should refocus on signing Neymar this summer. I believe Neymar joining Lionel Messi would help Barcelona become again that sensational team that won many titles several years ago.”
Rivaldo also added that the team’s spirit “has been affected by the lockdown” and he is worried about their Champions League qualifications especially without fans to cheer the team on at Camp Nou. He believes Neymar to be the best solution to Barca’s problems right now.
