Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has condemned the level of compliance of residents to the gradual ease of lockdown in the state.
Afriupdate recalls that President Muhammadu Buhari had in his nationwide address ordered the gradual easing of lockdown in FCT, Lagos and Ogun states following the initial total lockdown directive.
Lagos state had rolled out measures as the state returned to partial activities on Monday, May 4.
However, speaking on Saturday during his daily update on COVID-19, Sanwo-Olu scored the level of compliance very low, especially the commercial transport sector.
He said, “he yellow buses scored below performance, we are not happy with the level of compliance but we are working with them and we hope to see some level of improvement in terms of compliance.”
The governor also thanked the health workers for the role in managing the coronavirus pandemic in the state.
“I want to thank all our frontline workers. A lot of our health workers in isolation have turned very well, some of them have returned home and will be reporting back to work soon,” he said.
