It appears that Harry Maguire’s hip injury could force Manchester United’s hand in the transfer market this month.

According to Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are now looking to bring in a centre-back on loan until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old is facing a ‘sustained’ spell on the sidelines after suffering a torn hip muscle in a goalless FA Cup draw at Wolves last week.

Victor Lindelof is currently the only fit centre-back at Old Trafford as Phil Jones is recovering from a cramp he suffered in a 3-1 EFL Cup defeat against Manchester City on Tuesday.

In the meantime, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could turn to 19-year-old defender Di’Shon Bernard who made his United debut against Astana in the Europa League in November.
