Barcelona host Real Madrid this Wednesday, December 18. Los Blancos’ head coach Zinedine Zidane previews the upcoming first Clasico of the season. The French specialist admits he can actually enjoy this fixture even though the Catalans tend to have better results against their bitterest rivals.
Diario AS quote Zidane as saying: “You can enjoy it, yes. It’s a football game. We play eleven against eleven and the substitutions. This is the most important thing. We know who we are up against. We know they have Messi but we also have our own weapons. We just want to have a good match.”
Zidane’s Madrid have won three out of seven Clasico fixtures. Barcelona have emerged victorious twice while two other fixtures have resulted in draws.
Even though Messi hasn’t scored or assisted against Real Madrid last season, he has found the net 26 times against Los Blancos.
It is true Real Madrid didn’t have Zidane last season when Barcelona won three out of four Clasico fixtures in all competitions.
