Alife and Lee Drop Joint Anniversary Capsule Collection

New York City-based Alife is joining American heritage denim brand Lee for a co-branded anniversary capsule collection. Celebrating 20 years of Alife and 130 of Lee, the first drop of the ongoing collaboration for Fall 2019 will showcase both the brands’ histories and inspirations.

The multi-denim piece capsule incorporates Lee’s iconic heritage styles with contemporary updates by Alife. Highlights from the collection include a corduroy jacket and pants set in “Bittersweet” and “Blue monochrome,” and a Buddy Lee T-shirt inspired by the advertising mascot and promotional item Lee used from 1920 to 1962. The 101K Slim Rider Jacket and jeans are constructed with quality denim secured from the last selvedge denim mill in the U.S. which permanently closed in 2017. Only available in a limited quantity, the jacket and jeans come in a medium or rigid worn wash.

Incorporating Lee’s rich history with Alife’s ’80s and ’90s New York City hip hop scene inspiration, the anniversary capsule delivers downtown culture and style without compromising quality. Rob Cristofaro, founder of Alife, speaks about his personal connection with Lee during the 80s:

“As a kid, my friends and I would frequent our local Army & Navy store where there was a floor to ceiling wall of colored Lee to choose from. We would paint the back panel of the jackets with graffiti and iron creases on the front of the jeans. As a teen growing up in New York during the B-boy/Breakdancing era of the ‘80’s, Lee was part of the uniform. Lee jeans and jackets were offered in a palette of colors, solids and pinstripes that people matched their sneakers, Le Tigré shirts and windbreakers to. Lee was a part of the 1980’s history of New York.”

Starting the first week of October, the first drop will be available to purchase on Alife and Lee’s websites and in-store at Alife Rivington Club. Prices range from $49 to $260 USD.
