Barcelona want to snap up on multidimensional Liverpool youngster as Neymar alternative

Barcelona are hoping to reunite with Neymar during the summer, but as matters get tighter by the day, they will hope that Liverpool can answer their calls.

Bayern Munich eased some wage load off Barcelona after they agreed to sign Philippe Coutinho from them on an initial loan for the 2019/20 season and an eventual option to make the deal permanent next summer for roughly 120 million euros. Coutinho’s departure came at a poor time as injuries have begun taking their toll on a side heavily reliant on Lionel Messi.

Fox Sports has reported that while the Catalans are optimistic about landing Neymar and that the Brazil international’s arrival could really change their fortunes, Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool has been shortlisted as a player who could be an attacker at the Camp Nou. TAA is naturally a right back, but his attacking talent is absolutely sublime.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been incredible for the Reds and has sealed his spot into Jurgen Klopp’s regular eleven at just 20 years of age. Despite competing against the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Kieran Trippier, the youngster has consistently been second fiddle to Kyle Walker over the last few years- a great achievement for someone his age.

Jurgen Klopp’s attacking system is heavily dependent on full backs, so Trent Alexander-Arnold’s offensive gameplay is a massive asset for him for sure and given how well he had done in last season’s Champions League, it would be nothing but imprudent of the Reds to get rid of him at such a ripe age and more so to a team that they will come head-to-head in Europe on several occasions.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are trying to crack Paris Saint-Germain’s resistance as they hope to strike a deal for Neymar. The Parisians are reportedly making exorbitant demands from a team that is almost equivalent to its enemy and will be more than happy to let go of the world’s most expensive signing to one of Juventus and Real Madrid, instead of the Catalans.

How much do you think Alexander-Arnold would be worth if Barcelona want to sign him?
