Bigger wages than Messi: Neymar's alleged financial demands revealed

  • In short, the Brazilian won’t come cheaply.
  • He wants a €35million net annual salary and five-year deal.
  • The Argentinean, meanwhile, only earns €29,3million net per year.

Spanish source Jugones reveal the alleged financial demands Neymar has voiced to both Barcelona and Real Madrid, the two clubs who are in the race to sign him. In short, the Brazilian won’t come cheaply at all.

Reportedly, Neymar demands a €35million net annual salary and a five-year deal. This would see the Brazilian earning a total of €175m if he sees through his full contract.

These terms would be difficult to afford by either of the clubs even though Real Madrid may have a slighter financial benefit. According to the most recent information, Lionel Messi is currently receiving LESS than Neymar. He earns a net €565,000 per week which corresponds for a net €29,3m per year.

As for Neymar, at PSG, he was supposed to earn €700,000 a week net and, subsequently, a stunning €36.8 million per year. It means that the Brazilian will have to agree on a tiny pay cut in order to leave the Parisians.

During his Blaugrana times, however, Neymar was receiving €300,000 per week. Previously, there were rumours that the Brazilian was ready to accept similar financial terms. It doesn’t seem to be the case if Jugones’ information is correct.

It remains to be seen whether Messi agrees to earn less than Neymar. The Madrid-based press have recently published a bizarre claim that the Argentinean, as well as other Blaugrana senior players, are unhappy with the delay of the Brazilian’s transfer.
