Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has provided some sound words of advice for youngsters breaking into Unai Emery’s team this season.

The German international is one of the more experienced members of the squad, having a total of 537 senior club appearances behind him. The 30-year-old made his debut for Bundesliga club Schalke in 2006.

“I just want to say that the most important thing is to believe in yourself,” he told Arsenal Player .

“Of course you have some days when it doesn’t go so well but you have to believe in yourself, keep working and the most important thing is to have fun.

“If you don’t have fun, if you are losing and you make mistakes you will be disappointed. But don’t listen to anyone, you know how good you are, believe in yourself and have fun.”

Ozil has missed the opening games of the season because of security concerns and illness, the midfielder is however expected to be available to make his comeback in the game against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday. A game which sees the only two clubs with a 100% win record come up against each other.
