Solskjaer rubbishes 'negativity' talk about transfer dealings

  • Solskjaer’s relieved the window is closed.
  • He’s delighted with the new players.
  • He previews a long rebuild, not a quick fix.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has held his first press conference ahead of the Premier League 2019-20 campaign start.

Ole first addressed the ‘negativity’ surrounding the club: “We are feeling very confident and don’t feel that negativity you’re talking about. Of course we want to put that right and the only way we can put any doubts is by playing good football. That’s showing the team we want to be, the style of football we want to play.

“Our fans, when they see that intention, they’ve always been supporting the team. But, as I said earlier, within the team and the club, we are feeling very confident and we don’t feel that negativity you’re talking about”

He then discussed the transfer business: “It’s a feeling of relief now it’s done, and I’m delighted with the three that we’ve signed. [Frustration] is not the feeling in the club and not the feeling of the fans I’ve met.”

He crucially added: “There is money available when the right players are available.”

Ole concluded: “I said earlier it’s not about a quick fix, a longer rebuild and getting the right players. It’s not time in the last three days to change that if we’ve not got the right answers from the players the fans wanted.”
