According to the report, Bard will seek to “generate detailed answers when given simple prompts, such as what to make for lunch or how to plan a friend’s baby shower.” Since the incredible success of ChatGPT, it was only a matter of time until other tech firm set their sights on emulating the meteoric rise.

In a blog post announcing the news, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai spoke on the testing phase. “We’ll combine external feedback with our own internal testing to make sure Bard’s responses meet a high bar of quality, safety, and groundedness in real-world information,” Pichai stated.

Additionally stating, “We’re excited for this phase of testing to help us continue to learn and improve Bard’s quality and speed.” The program will be powered by Google’s LaMDA technology, which is their language model.

Moreover, the Bloomberg report has also noted that the selected testers were a, “geographically diverse group of people outside of the company who will help it improve and understand how regular users will encounter AI service in real life,” according to a Google spokesperson.
