Flutterwave requests that businesses in Nigeria accept eNaira payments.

Merchants may now accept eNaira payments from their consumers on Flutterwave’s platform, according to the business, which is the top provider of payments technology in Africa.

This is a supplement to the numerous payment options already available on Flutterwave, such as credit cards, bank transfers, Barter by Flutterwave, and others.

According to the fintech startup, retailers can make the eNaira payment option available on their dashboard for customers to use.

In order to provide consumers with transaction switching and card processing services, the company previously announced that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has issued it with a Switching and Processing license. Agency banking and payment gateway services are additional services.

“With our recent adoption of eNaira as a payment method on Flutterwave, we’re providing numerous payment ways to businesses and their consumers to guarantee everyone has access to payment options that work for them,” said Olugbenga GB Agboola, founder and CEO of Flutterwave. As we create and put into practice fresh ideas to make it easier for our customers to make international payments, Flutterwave will keep striving to remain at the cutting edge of innovation.

Azeez Oluwafemi, senior vice president of products and design, said on his behalf: “We’re the payment solution that aims to make it simple for people and companies with different payment demands and requirements to conduct business. Because it provides a different payment option that many users find convenient, the eNaira function is crucial for businesses and customers. It’s an important update for Flutterwave, and we keep an eye out for chances like this to broaden the scope of what we have to offer.

The Central Bank of Nigeria created and governs the digital currency known as eNaira to serve as a means of trade and a store of value. Since users simply need to register and utilize the wallet through the full mobile app, it is accessible to customers with or without a bank account and was introduced on October 25, 2021. Users can use the app to create one-time tokens or scan QR codes to conduct transactions on Flutterwave.

The company currently conducts business in Africa, Europe, North America, and other emerging markets by offering a range of payment tools that allow more than 1 million businesses to accept payments from their clients in more than 150 different currencies, including the Naira and eNaira, from anywhere in the world.
