Lil Nas X, Jack Harlow and Kendrick Lamar lead the 2022 MTV VMAs nominations with seven nominations each.
The 2022 MTV VMAs would hold on Sunday, August 28.
Pop singer Doja Cat follows the leading three nominees with six nominations making her this year’s top female nominee. Harry Styles shares the spotlight with her also receiving six nominations. While Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd received five nods each. BTS is the most nominated group or duo, with four nods.

For the first time in the award show’s 39-year history, MTV increased the number of nominees for its top category “Video of the Year” to seven. This increase follows the lead of other award shows who in recent times have also increased the number of nominees in selected categories.
There are also seven nominees each for artist of the year, best collaboration and best alternative.
