Cristiano Ronaldo will not go to Thailand with the rest of the Manchester United group after being allowed extra time off to deal with a family matter that has kept him from practicing this week.

The 37-year-old is the only senior international who has yet to report for pre-season training. Last week, it was revealed that the Portugal international wished to quit United.
Summer commitment Tyrell Malacia has been named to Ten Hag’s 31-man squad, but the club has not been able to conclude a contract for Christian Eriksen in time for him to be included.
United begin their summer schedule next Tuesday with a trip to Thailand to face old adversaries Liverpool before heading to Australia to face Melbourne Victory, Crystal Palace, and Aston Villa. Then comes a demanding weekend, with matches against Atletico Madrid in Oslo and Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford on the same day.

Ten Hag has picked academy talents Zidane Iqbal and Charlie Savage to the trip squad.

Alejandro Garnacho and Hannibal Mejbri, as well as more experienced adolescents Ethan Laird and Nathan Bishop, join them.

Tahith Chong and James Garner have both traveled, with the latter poised to be given an opportunity to impress the new United manager after an impressive loan spell with Nottingham Forest last summer.

Despite being free to leave the club this summer, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Alex Telles, Axel Tuanzebe, and Eric Bailly have all been selected for the traveling squad.
Anthony Martial was also judged surplus to needs, although there is mounting speculation that he may yet have a role to play in the future given the uncertainty surrounding Ronaldo.

Phil Jones, Brandon Williams, and Andreas Pereira were not named to the squad, despite the fact that all three are slated to leave the club this summer. Jones is preparing for the upcoming season with a specialized fitness regimen, Williams has a minor issue,’ and Pereira has been granted time off after returning from a loan spell at Flamengo.
Alvaro Fernandez, Shola Shoretire, Teden Mengi, and Di’Shon Bernard were also ruled out due to prospective loan exits.

United’s pre-season tour team

Van Gea, Lindelof, Bailly, Maguire, Fernandes, Martial, Rashford, Malacia, Amad, Fred, Varane, Dalot, Heaton, Shaw, Sancho, Telles, Pellistri, Wan-Bissaka, Bishop, Van de Beek, Elanga, Garner, Tuanzebe, McTominay, Kovar, Laird,
