Memphis Depay has been Barcelona’s designated penalty-taker since he signed for Barcelona last summer. Five of his goals last season came from the spot.
However, the Dutchman’s future is up in the air and he could end up leaving the club this summer.
If that happens, Barca must pick a new penalty-taker. That is likely going to be a new signing, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Barcelona have already signed Franck Kessie, who was the penalty-taker at AC Milan before leaving. He could take over the duties from Memphis.
Secondly, Robert Lewandowski was Bayern Munich’s kick-taker last season. If the Pole joins Barca, you can bet he will become the penalty-taker, regardless of whether Memphis stays or leaves.
