Mundo Deportivo report that Barcelona have attempted to buy Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz staggering three times.
The Catalans tried landing him in 2019, then in 2020 and again in 2021. Yet their approaches were always rejected by the Partenopei president Aurelio Di Laurentiis.
Napoli set a €60m price tag on the Spanish midfielder and Barca decided he didn’t cost that much.
Interestingly, Mundo add that Ruiz considers returning to Spain.
The 25-year-old’s contract expires in 2023. It means there is a chance he becomes available on a lower fee than €60m after the end of this season. Or maybe even on a free transfer in 2023 if Fabian decides to take a leaf out of Dembele’s book and reject a new deal with Napoli.
