Fury to miss $100m payday if he loses to Wilder

• Former champion accuses Gypsy King of planning to cheat

WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, stands to lose a $100 million+ payday for a potential fight against the winner of the Anthony Joshua vs. Oleksandr Usyk 2 rematch in 2022 if he loses his trilogy match against Deontay Wilder on October 9, writes Boxing247.com.
Some pundits believe Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) has been avoiding the fight with Deontay Wilder for close to two years, saying he tried to get out of fighting Wilder a second time despite having a contractual rematch.

Fury was forced to agree to the bout by a U.S. arbitrator.

Fury was knocked out cold by Wilder in 2018, and he was lucky to get through their rematch in 2020 without going to sleep for a second time.
Wilder just barely missed Fury with a few devastating right hands before his legs were taken away in the third round from a clip to the side of the head.

If Fury pulls out of the fight with Deontay, he could lose $80 million in damages along with the huge purse that he’s getting for the match.

For the trilogy match, Fury will enjoy a 60-40 split over Wilder, which could see ‘The Gypsy King’ walk away with $60 million regardless of the outcome.
It’s a win-win for Fury no matter how the fight turns out for him, but obviously, he wants to win because he’s got the big $100 million+ payday against Joshua he’ll be enjoying.

Meanwhile, Wilder has reiterated his belief that Tyson Fury ‘cheated’ in their last fight and now claimed that the ‘Gypsy King’ will try to do so once again in their trilogy.

Fury floored Wilder twice and stopped him in their February 2020 rematch, with the pair now set to meet for a third time on October 9.
Last October, Wilder spoke out for the first time since March, accusing Fury of cheating in their rematch first by posting a video and statement on social media and then following up with various interviews.

In the video, Wilder alleged the Brit tampered with his gloves to put his fist in an improper position.

He added that he believes Fury had a hard object concealed within his gloves to deal extra damage.

The American next claimed his water was spiked with muscle relaxers before the fight, potentially by his own co-trainer Mark Breland.

He also pushed further accusations of disloyalty at Breland – who threw in the towel to end the bout – and fired him as a result.

Ahead of their third meeting, Wilder has stood by his remarks.

He told 78SPORTSTV: “You think he ain’t gonna try to cheat this time?

“Oh they’re thinking, they’re coming up with a master plan. But my thing to him – man, you couldn’t even get me out on loaded gloves and the conditions I was under.

“You couldn’t knock me out, you didn’t knock me out.”
