Following the refusal of most people in Abia State to attend to their daily activities on Monday and to shun the already suspended sit-at-home order by the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Governor Okezie IKpeazu of Abia State on Friday warned the citizens of the state against embarking on actions and activities that will hurt the economy as well as their own economic aspirations.

Ikpeazu, in a broadcast to the people of the state to mark 30th Anniversary of the state, noted that the state and its people will greatest losers in any activity designed to deprive them of economic and social freedom, adding that “we must rise above tendencies that seek to hurt our legitimate pursuits”.

“Once again, I implore us all to resume our normal economic and social activities without fear of victimization while assuring us all that the Abia State Government has put modalities in place in conjunction with security agencies to ensure the safety and security of everyone going about their legitimate endeavours”.

“While we understand that agitations and positioning are the usual processes of politicking, especially leading up to a general election, we insist that such activities be carried out under the atmosphere of unity and inclusion.
