Megan Thee Stallion is making history, today, the “Savage” rapper was revealed as one of three new cover stars for Sports Illustrated’s annual swimsuit issue, making her the first female rapper to ever front the famous publication.

Megan took to Instagram to share the history-making feat with her fans and followers, as well as the stunning cover image.

“REAL SPORTS ILLUSTRATED SWIMSUIT EDITION COVER MODEL SHIT!!! Thee first female rapper on the cover of @si_swimsuit,” she shared on the platform.

I want to thank all the strong women in my life who inspired me to love my body and live my best hot girl life. It means the world to me to be on this cover DREAM COME TRUE!! #SISwim21.

In its feature article, Sports Illustrated expressed its excitement for having the hip-hop star on its cover. The article reads:

According to Billboard, Megan is also the first woman to have three number-one streaming songs within the same year, those tracks being “Savage” featuring Beyoncé, “WAP,” and “Body.”

Megan reflected on her growing rap legacy for Harper’s BAZAAR’s March 2021 issue, saying:
