Bandits who abducted pupils of the Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School in Tegina town in Rafi Local Government of Niger State have made contact with the management of the institution.

Afriupdate gathered that the bandits contacted Alhaji Abubakar Alhassan, the school Headmaster, at about 4 pm on Monday, asking him to pay N110 million as ransom for the release of his pupils.

AFRIUPDATE reports that over 200 students of the Islamic school were abducted when unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits attacked the school on Sunday May 30 around 4:30pm and one person was reportedly shot dead while another critically injured.

Speaking to journalists on the telephone on Tuesday, Alhassan said the kidnappers threatened that if they did not pay the ransom by the end of today (Wednesday), they would kill all the children.
