Tiger Woods says he ‘thought he was in Florida’ after crash
Rancho Palos Verdes, CA – February 23: Workers move a vehicle after a rollover accident involving golfer Tiger Woods on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021 in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. Woods suffered leg injuries in the one-car accident and was undergoing surgery, authorities and his manager said.(Mark J. Terrill for For The Times)

Tiger Woods mistakenly thought he was in Florida when the golfer was interviewed by police after his recent high-speed car crash in Los Angeles, according to a report.

Sky News reports that a 22-page police report into the incident, showed when Deputy Kyle Sullivan interviewed Woods in hospital after the crash, stated that Tiger Woods did not remember anything about what had happened – and that he thought he was in the state of Florida.

The accident, which left him with shattered bones in his right leg, happened after he had been driving at more than 80mph.

That was nearly double the 45 mph speed limit when he crashed in California in February, Los Angeles County’s sheriff said Wednesday.

“The primary causal factor for this traffic collision was driving at a speed unsafe for the road conditions and the inability to negotiate the curve of the roadway,” said Alex Villanueva
