The Brazilian suffered a muscle injury in the last game for Chelsea.
Tuchel confirms that Silva’s recovery goes according to their plan.
However, the FA Cup game comes too soon for him.
“Thiago is out for tomorrow for sure,” Thomas Tuchel told a press conference ahead of the FA Cup game against Barnsley.
“He feels better and better though, which is good and he’s getting the right treatment.
“One thing we can be sure of with Thiago though is that he will be spending every minute available to him to speed up the process of healing. It is a muscle injury though so we cannot force it and we will wait for Thiago.”
The Brazilian centre-back was subbed off the pitch in the Tottenham game last week with a thigh injury.
After the match, Tuchel stated that the aim would be for Silva to recover in time for the Premier League game against Southampton on February 20 – but even that target was optimistic. Needless to say, it’s not surprising that the 36-year-old will not play against the Championship side on Thursday.
