Manchester United is a club which is always surrounded by transfer rumours. And it is only natural considering the number of players that the Red Devils sign and let go off every year.
Numerous players arrive at Old Trafford, hoping to make their mark at one of the biggest clubs in the world. But very few are good enough to feature consistently and ultimately end up leaving in search of playing. Diogo Dalot could end up being one of those players.
The Portuguese full-back signed for Manchester United back in 2018 during the reign of Jose Mourinho. He was replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the middle of the season though after a poor start and it does not look like he was in the Norwegian manager’s plans.
As a result, he was sent on loan to AC Milan in the summer. He has done decently well there as there have been rumours that they could look to sign him for a fee of around €17 million. And if recent reports are accurate, then the Red Devils might already have a replacement in mind.
Max Aarons could be headed to Manchester United
Aarons has been one of the most highly-rated young full-backs in Europe for quite some time now although he is yet to get his big move from Norwich City. That could change next summer as Solskjaer appears to be interested in signing the 21-year-old Championship star in the summer, as reported by the Express.
That could spell the end for Dalot at United. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is clearly the undisputed starter at the club right now. If Aarons arrives in the summer as well, that could leave the Portuguese as the third choice on the pecking order and that is before taking Brandon Williams into consideration.
As a result, a move away from Old Trafford looks very likely for Dalot. And if he can end this campaign on a strong note with AC Milan, the Italian giants might be tempted to make his loan move permanent.
