All three have had great histories with Chelsea Football Club.
Chelsea’s dressing room got a lot more inexperienced in terms of years spent at the club last week – with the trio of Frank Lampard, Chris Jones, and Jody Morris leaving.
Of course, Thomas Tuchel has been a positive change at the club, but the Blues could miss the know-how these three former coaches had of the club:
Frank Lampard
Not much needs to be said of one of the biggest legends at Chelsea – in all Super Frank made 648 appearances in 13 years as he helped the club to almost every available trophy.
After finishing as Chelsea’s highest ever goalscorer, Lampard went into management and re-joined the Blues as manager last season.
In all, the Englishman has given 14.5 years of service to the club.
Jody Morris
An academy graduate, Morris spent 7 years at Chelsea, playing 166 times before leaving for Leeds United in 2003.
In 2013, Morris returned to the club as a coach at the youth level, playing a crucial role in the recent influx of superstar talents coming out of the Cobham academy.
In his two years in charge of the Under-18’s, his side won every competition in which they entered, winning seven titles in total
After joining Lampard at Derby in 2018, Jody Morris followed the boss to Chelsea as his assistant.
In all, Morris spent 13.5 years at Chelsea in his various roles.
Chris Jones
Jones was the long-time fitness coach at Stamford Bridge for 12 years between the years of 2006 and 2018.
He too followed Lampard – first to Derby County and then back to Chelsea in 2019.
Jones spent 13.5 years in West London.
