Cavani has been an impactful signing for Man United at 33 years old.
Richards believes the striker’s most dangerous weapon is his intelligence.
Speaking to BBC’s Match of the Day, former Manchester City full-back Micah Richards said: “I played against him and he ran me ragged. You can’t teach that, he’s a natural born goalscorer, he’s so intelligent.
“Edinson Cavani is a provider too and he works for the team. He wants to close people down, he still puts a shift in at 33. He’s outstanding in that area.”
Cavani kickstarted Manchester United’s comeback with a first-half equaliser against Fulham in the Premier League on Wednesday.
With Anthony Martial continuing to struggle for consistency, the Uruguayan could be set for a second consecutive start against Liverpool in the FA Cup on Sunday.
