Wayne Rooney has been appointed the permanent manager of Derby County, the club has confirmed.
As a result, the former Man United star has retired as an active player following an illustrious career.
Rooney made over 750 club appearances in his decorated career, out of which 559 came at United.
He scored 253 goals and registered 146 assists at Old Trafford, becoming the club’s highest-ever goalscorer and breaking Sir Bobby Charlton’s record.
Rooney has been given the permanent job after impressing in his 9 games in charge as interim manager, out of which he helped Derby win 3 and draw 4 games.
