Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eyeing FA Cup success with Manchester United this season following the disappointing of the club’s Carabao Cup semi-final exit in midweek.
United were beaten by Manchester City in the last four of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, the fourth semi-final defeat the Red Devils have suffered over the past year after also exiting at the same stage of all three cup competitions in 2019/20.
The club begin their FA Cup campaign this weekend when they host Championship promotion-hopefuls Watford in the third round tomorrow evening, and Solskjaer is keen for his side to bounce back from their midweek disappointment and kick-start a run towards Wembley.
“The reaction has been as expected, you’re disappointed when you go out, you always are,” he said at his pre-match press conference.
“We wanted to go one step further, but have shown many times this season we can bounce back after disappointments. We did it after the defeat to Arsenal, after Tottenham, after going out of Champions League. The boys have reacted well.
“We go into the next game wanting to win this, we enter this competition wanting to win.
"It's special for Odion to be involved against Watford," adds the boss.

“There are a few players that had a few knocks, there’ll be a few changes but we’ll still field a team I’m confident in.”
Solskjaer may look to rotate his options against a Hornets side currently sixth in the second tier, though one player who will miss out is summer signing Facundo Pellestri.
The teenage winger had been in contention to make his senior debut but will miss the clash after testing positive for coronavirus.
“Well, I think we’ve done well to follow the protocols as we have, we’ve had the odd case and Facundo Pellistri got a positive test, so he reported that on his Twitter,” he said.
“We don’t normally comment on who they are, but Facundo is well and hopefully he’ll be back with us soon, he’s been with the reserves and 23s and wasn’t really in our group over Xmas. Apart from that, we have a full and fit squad.”
