Martial needs to score at least 15 goals per season, says Phil Neville.
Neville points out that United can’t rely only on Rashford and Bruno.
The former defender urges Anthony to be more ‘ruthless’ in front of the goal.
Phil Neville told Premier League Productions: “He [Anthony Martial] is someone who needs to score more goals.

“He needs to score ten to 15 [league] goals a season. He needs to be up that mark for United to have any chance of winning the league as you can’t just rely on [Marcus] Rashford and [Bruno] Fernandes to score the goals.”

The former defender added: “He needs to be hitting those type of figures. I’d like to see him be a little more ruthless. Hopefully, now he will now get a run of form, run of games and a run of rhythm.

“He looks fitter and I want to see him go on a run of scoring goals.”

Martial scored 17 league goals last season but his form took a dip at the beginning of this season. As a result, he’s only scored two goals in 12 top-flight appearances for the Red Devils.

Neville is not wrong – there is scope for improvement. However, Manchester United fans have also been urging the Frenchman to live up to his true potential.
