Manchester United have had some wonderful wingers down the years.

From Ryan Giggs to Andrei Kanchelskis to Cristiano Ronaldo, the best Red Devils sides have electrifying wide men. And some youngsters are waiting in the wings to take that particular crown.

Here are three United teenagers who could become great wingers down the line:

Facundo Pellestri

United signed Uruguayan prospect Facundo Pellestri for £9million (BBC) and he is already impressing for the second string.

The 18-year-old had 37 first-team outings for Penarol under his belt, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is bedding him in slowly. That said, Pellestri is quickly making waves.

In seven U23 outings for United, the teenager has three goals and one assist. His latest came against Manchester City’s youngsters and it will be interesting to see if he gets a chance between now and May.

Amad Diallo

United signed two new wide players over the summer. But Amad Diallo has to wait until January to seal his £37million switch due to work permit issues
When he does finally arrive, United fans can expect glimpses of brilliance from the outset.

Diallo scored on his Atalanta debut and has been tracked by United for quite some time. Yet it still came as a surprise when they swooped on deadline day for a considerably cheaper alternative to Jadon Sancho.

Soon, United fans will be able to see what all the fuss is about. Based on his cameo appearances in Italy, he is going to delight the Old Trafford faithful for the next decade.

Shola Shoretire

At just 16, Shola Shoretire is regarded as one of United’s crown jewels. So far he has played 11 times for the U23s, scoring two goals and providing two assists to date.

Shoretire is incredibly versatile, able to operate on either flank, as an attacking midfielder or up front. Yet it is from the left where he does much of his best work.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News, one United source referred to Shoretire as an “exceptional talent”. And it is widely believed that a first-team chance is only a matter of time.
