The Catalans are impressed with the 21-year-old homegrown talent, so they may wait for Eric Garcia to join for free in summer.
Barcelona are now considering not to sign a new centre-back in January, Diario Sport say.
The Catalans have been encouraged by Oscar Mingueza’s impressive displays; moreover, they are expected to welcome back Samuel Umtiti and Ronald Araujo in the coming days.
In this case, Barca would be able to save the much-needed money in January.
As for their prime target Eric Garcia, the Manchester City centre-back is set to return in summer for free.
21-year-old Mingueza has made 3 appearances for Barca and his side haven’t conceded a single goal during this run.
He was brought from the B team when Gerard Pique suffered a serious knee injury, potentially ruling out him for 4 months or more.
